Safety Net Associates invited to brief Minister on Gangs, Guns and Knives

The National Community Forum (NCF) is a group of residents and professionals - from some of England's most deprived communities. The NCF brings community voices into Government. It acts as a valuable sounding board for Ministers and civil servants, providing them with a grass roots perspective on policies aimed at narrowing the gap between deprived areas and the rest of the country.
It has three overarching aims:

  • to give communities a voice that makes a difference
  • to promote equality, diversity and cohesion within communities
  • to highlight the impacts of poverty

Safety Net Associates have been invited by the NCF to help them advise the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Communities and Local Government, Baroness Andrews on matters relating to Guns, Gangs and Knives.

Kent County Cricket Club has appointed Safety Net Associates as Safety Officers for the twenty20 cup competition.


Kent County Cricket Club is one of the 18 first class county cricket clubs, which make up the English domestic cricket structure, representing the county of Kent. The county's limited overs team is called the Kent Spitfires. The county plays most of its home matches at the St Lawrence Ground, Canterbury, but also plays some home matches at The County Cricket Ground, Beckenham, and the Nevill Ground, Tunbridge Wells.
In 2007, Kent won the Twenty20 Cup for the first time, defeating Gloucestershire in the final and are defending champions for the 2008 season.

The Government’s Department of Communities & Local Government have asked Safety Net Associates to lead a workshop at a National Community Event in London.

Communities and Local Government is working hard to create thriving, sustainable, vibrant communities that improve everyone's quality of life. To achieve this they are building more and better homes - and reducing homelessness, improving local public services, regenerating areas to create more jobs, working to produce a sustainable environment and tackling anti-social behaviour and extremism.
Safety net associates have been asked by DCLG to lead a workshop on how to run community meetings with residents at their National ‘Respect & Communties’ Event in London.

The appointment is for 3 years and Trevor will be providing expert advice to the department for Primary Care, Public Health and Social Policy. Safety net associates will be delivering practitioner “Action Days” across the country, participating in the delivery of regional “showcasing” events, undertaking case review and system review as a National Respect Squad member, delivering training at forthcoming public and practitioner training/ academy events and providing ad- hoc advice and guidance on complex casework / partnership arrangements and advice on section 17 (Crime and Disorder Act 1998) enquiries.

Safety net associates have been contracted to provide anti social behaviour expert speakers for Encams ‘Managing local environmental quality and anti-social behaviour at tourism hotspots’ conference in Bournemouth.

Encams are an environmental charity who campaign directly to the public. They are best known for our Keep Britain Tidy campaign, which has been running for over fifty years. They try to persuade everyone to stop dropping litter and put it in a bin.
